Wildwood is a complex golden brown tonal with lots of depth and movement inspired by Camp Wildwood where I first attended Girl Scout camp when I was eight years old. We may have only had sulphur water for showers, brushing teeth, and making our Kool-Aid, but I have tons of fond memories. It’s where I had my first exposure to batik using crayons melted over the campfire in aluminum pie plates, and tie-dyed everything in a weak pink bath. We came home looking like we had washed all of our whites with a red sock , but we were so proud!
My Fern yarn base in a wonderfully soft blend of 85% Superwash fine Merino and 15% Nylon. It's a truly versatile workhorse perfect for socks, shawls, hats, scarves, and sweaters.
Composition: 4 ply sock or fingering weight, 85% Super Wash fine Merino/15% Nylon
Care: Although my superwash blend is machine washable, I recommend hand washing with wool wash or a gentle soap to preserve colors and durability. Lay flat to dry.
Each skein of yarn has been hand painted with love and care in a smoke-free environment. I use professional quality acid dyes in a small batch dying process. No two skeins are exactly the same. It is beneficial to alternate skeins for large projects. If you would like to order a sweater’s quantity, please contact me before ordering so I can make sure you have the closest matching skeins for your project.
All skeins are hand washed and rinsed thoroughly before you receive them, however, some bleeding may occur, especially in the first few washes.
I do my best to represent colors accurately in photographs, however, colors may vary from monitor to monitor. Photos are taken in natural lighting with minimal photo editing. Please contact me with any special requests or questions before ordering.
